Hope all is well, I roughed out the rudder today. The rudder is bigger than the stock Just checking that this is what you had in mind.

After snapping an $18 piece of teak, I steamed it over an oven dish for 30 minutes, and here is the result being cured sans glue for a couple of days. Glassing the decks is probably a complete waste of time. But I figured the foredeck could possibly justify it so while I was at it……..
